I'm gonna write you down a OLD recipe that one of my favourite Food-Blogger MariaBianca found on a old kooking magazine. (please visit her blog)
The author on the magazine says that is a cake of the Old Tradition of Ravenna.
We want believe it!
MariaBianca says it's delicious and I bet it is!
So here after you can find the way of cooking THE TRADITIONAL RAVENNA CAKE or also Very Ancient Ravenna Cake with Amaretti e Bread Crumbles.
This recipe has NO Flour !
Yes you read correctly, no Flour at ALL!
The Flour is substituted by the bread crumbles.
So how can you let it run away without trying it!
- 200 gr bread crumbles
- 200 gr amaretti crumbles
- 200 gr sugar
- 250 ml milk cream
- 100 gr dark chocolate
- 3 eggs
- 7 gr yeast
eventually powder sugar for decoration
In a bowl mix the sugar with the milk cream.
Mix it with a wooden spoon.
Add the 3 eggs yolk and mix it till is homogenic.
Add then the bread and amaretti crumbles.
Add the yest best if pss through a sieve
In a different bowl whip the white of the eggs hard.
When ready mix it with the other mixture with the help of a wooden spoon.
Always mix gently and
Add the dark chocolate in big chunks.
Pour the mixture in a cake mould.
Put it in the oven for 40 min at 180°.
Decorate with powder sugar.
